Empowering Potential. Transforming Lives. From Skills to Income

Supporting Young People and Women in South Sudan to Gain Skills, Earn and Thrive.
Luckista Unite works alongside youth, women, displaced people, and host communities across South Sudan to turn ability into opportunity: connecting practical skills with the finance, markets and support people need to build a sustainable income and a dignified future.

Ability Isn’t the Barrier

Across South Sudan, capable people, including those displaced by conflict and the host communities that have welcomed them, are held back not by lack of ability but by lack of access: to finance, to markets, to the networks that turn effort into income. Displacement, conflict and climate shocks make that gap even wider. The people we work with don’t need to be rescued. They need a path.

The Skills to Income Pathway

The Skills to Income Pathway connects four reinforcing pieces: skills, enterprise, financial inclusion,
and lasting partnerships so potential turns into income that lasts beyond the
length of a single programme.

Skills training and learning

Skills & Enterprise

Skills that create opportunities.
Market-matched vocational and business training, plus mentorship and direct links to employers and buyers. We give people the skills to make something worth selling and the connections to sell it.

Financial Inclusion

Building financial security together.
Village Savings and Loan Associations give people a safe, community-run way to save, borrow and build capital together. Financial literacy helps people plan, save and reinvest their income.
Green agricultural landscape

Resilient Livelihoods

Protecting progress from life’s shocks.
Climate-smart agriculture, food security support, and cash and voucher assistance help communities withstand drought, flooding and other shocks while protecting the progress they have made.
People working together as a community

Partnership & Systems

Connecting people to lasting opportunity.
We build community ownership and work with UN agencies, NGOs, government and the private sector to connect people with finance and markets that create lasting opportunities.

The Goal We are Building

a real deadline so here’s ours, plainly stated.

Founded in 2022

By former refugees and returnees, Luckista Unite built the Skills to Income Pathway from firsthand experience of economic exclusion, knowing personally which kinds of support create dependence and which ones create a foundation. It’s why our work is built on trust, not distance.

For the
community

If you are in South Sudan: displaced or part of a host
community and ready to build a livelihood, this
pathway is for you.

“I love being a GiM member because the resources give you the opportunity to learn new things and really get stuck into each sector. It’s opened lots of opportunities for me already, and I’m so keen to see what more can happen for me inside the community!”
